Somens Barcelona is a new brand creating niche perfumes. The project was launched in 2020 in Spain and so far consists of 6 fragrance compositions.
Onice is a fresh and spicy fragrance. The opening belongs to the orange, black pepper and mint. The fragrance is cool and aromatic. We also get a lot of musk and cedar wood, which both are wonderfully complemented by the addition of elemi. The whole mix is perfectly composed. Onice is an unisex fragrance with a masculine face, which is why it will surely find more customers among men. It is an arctic journey to the coldest corners of the world, which can sometimes be much more aromatic than those to warmer regions.
Seda is a scent of jasmine and gooseberry with lots of citrus aroma. They play the main role here, creating a juicy base for such a strong and characteristic note of jasmine. The opening of the fragrance definitely belongs to this white flower, although, in the background there is a tart and interesting gooseberry scent, which is not often found in perfumes. I was concerned about how this distinctive ingredient would be used here, but I was not disappointed. Gooseberry perfectly complements jasmine and the warm and cozy musk.
Capriccio is my favorite Somens fragrance. It is a warm and tropical fragrance that immediately takes us to the most remote corners of tropical islands. The opening of the fragrance is a mix of pineapple, bergamot and jasmine. This combination creates an interesting and warm aura. Apart from the pineapple, who plays the main role here, we also find ambergris, which, like the sun, ignites our senses. The fragrance does not lose its sweetness until the end of the whole projection, although, in the final stage we are met with a mixture of patchouli and saffron, which definitely tones down the whole fragrance. The sun is slowly setting and, although, its warm rays are still felt, it turns into an earthy and woody composition, which is the perfect culmination of a sunny day in the tropics.
