Houbigant is a French luxury perfume brand that dates back to 1882. Currently, the brand has 35 compositions to its credit, the latest of which comes from 2020. Houbigant perfumes were created in cooperation with the creators such as Luca Maffei, Marcel Billot, Paul Parquet, Robert Bienaime, Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Mathieu Nardin, Jacques Fleury and Jean-Claude Ellena.
House of Houbigant is the only brand that has been creating luxurious fragrances for four centuries. It all started in 1775 in Paris when a young man, Jean-Francois Houbigant, hung a hand-painted sign above his shop with a painted basket full of flowers. This is how the story that continues to this day began. Houbigant’s compositions catched great interest among the royal family and nobility.
Duc de Vervins is a composition from 1985. It is a classic, intense and masculine fragrance. The opening of the fragrance is a blend of aromatic lavender with lots of citrus and sage with nutmeg. This whole scent creates an incredibly intense and slightly soapy aura. The fragrance retains its original appearance for many hours and its projection is extremely delightful. In the first stage, the composition becomes a bit more citrusy with a characteristic note of geranium and patchouli. The woody earthy finish is very interesting and in my opinion is the strongest point of this fragrance.
The fragrance parameters are at the highest level. As I mentioned before, the fragrance is intense and exceptionally long-lasting. The composition stays on my skin for about 20 hours. Duc de Vervins is a great and masculine composition for fans of vintage fragrances.
