Egoli draws its name from the Zulu word for Johannesburg, meaning ‘place of gold’. It honours the city’s history and growth from a small gold mining settlement into the wealthiest city on the continent. Egoli is a modern exploration of Oud – the prized resin known as liquid gold – extravagantly dosed and in perfect harmony with the rich balsamic sweetness of resins.
Egoli is a composition by Aqualis London, in which we find: lavender, orange, tuberose, jasmine, gurjan balm, cedar, patchouli, amber, vetiver, oud from Laos and musk. The opening of the fragrance is a combination of oud and vetiver. The base of the fragrance is warm amber and aromatic lavender. The fragrance is a modern interpretation of oud, which is slightly woody and incredibly intriguing. The next stage is followed by a creamy accent of white flowers: tuberose and jasmine. Everything is bathed in juicy orange. With each passing moment, the scent becomes more and more woody, there is also a slightly earthy patchouli and musk. Egioli is a fragrance for oud fans with a pleasant and light face.
The parameters of the fragrance are very good. The composition stays on the skin for up to 10 hours and will satisfy all perfume fans with the highest quality ingredients. I rarely come across such perfectly composed compositions, which are like an olfactory spectacle. Egioli tells a story that each of us will interpret differently.
